Fancy Movies started with three old drama school friends who decided to learn by doing. Spurred by a curiosity about the technical aspects of filmmaking, an urge to generate footage for our reels, and, above all, a desire to get out and make things happen. We have to date produced four award-winning comedy films. Our movies have been screened at festivals around the world, including Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, and even a nudist colony in Texas.
When Covid-19 hit, we developed a replicatable safety protocol in collaboration with a healthcare professional, before vaccinations were widely available, and successfully produced a short film with cast and crew healthy and covid-free to this day. Fancy Movies is based in Los Angeles and always works under SAG-AFTRA's jurisdiction. We are committed to the spirit of indie filmmaking, always open to collaboration, and support creative people who are doing their best with small or no budgets.
